WHAT IS THE LIBRARY STUDENT ORGANIZATION (LSO)? The LSO is a student-run chapter of the American Library Association (ALA). Like our parent organization, we work to promote scholarly achievement and professional awareness among our members. LSO also promotes communication and interaction among students, faculty and staff within the School of Information Resources and Library Science (SIRLS). We organize a variety of events, speaker engagements, workshops and extracurricular activities. LSO strives to meet the diverse needs of local and distance student members.
WHY ARE WE CONDUCTING THIS SURVEY? The current LSO officers felt it was important to gather information about SIRLS students to assist us in developing the most valuable and worthwhile events and activities.
WHAT WILL WE DO WITH THIS INFORMATION? It will be held in the strictest confidence. Specifically, personal contact information will be used only for the purpose of keeping you informed about LSO activities. It will not be shared or sold to any other party. Demographic and interest profiles will be used to tailor LSO programming. It also will be shared with the SIRLS administration, but only in an aggregate form (i.e. no personal identifiers).
