INDEPENDENT STUDY PERIOD ASSIGNMENTSTo be completed between May 28 and June 23, 2007 PRIOR to coming to TucsonThere is quite a bit of work assigned during the Independent Study Period. Be sure to start immediately on May 28 and pace yourself through the four weeks. The list below will help orient you to the work that needs to be done. Modules and Class Schedule. Start by reading the Schedule for the Tucson classes to introduce the modules covered by 504. Each module has work for you to do during the Independent Study Period, to prepare you for class. Click on the module name to bring up a study guide for each module. This guide introduces the module, defines learning outcomes and lists topics, readings and study questions. Readings The module guide lists the reading and other assignments for you to do during the Independent Study Period and provides study questions to guide your reading. We suggest that you work your way through the content modules and technology modules first and then the orientation and professional development modules closer to your visit to Tucson. The readings can be found in several places:
Once in Tucson, you will be asked to review the readings for each module the night before class discussion. We suggest that you take notes so that you can review what you have read quickly. Additional Assignments During the Independent Study Period

Preparations for Tucson Finally, be sure you are prepared for your visit to Tucson. Review the Checklist and note all instructions, requirements and deadlines.
